Around Town – Roadside Goodies, Turtles and More

May 21, 2021

Highlights and lowlights from another stroll around town:

1. Here was an interesting sign I spotted this morning:

Make sure you do your good “dead” for the day. That’s “da contrac.” And no “srap” dealers either.

2. At Lakeside Park, I noticed that the mobility mat had been rolled out at the beach. But the parking lot is closed, prohibiting those who would need it from getting anywhere nearby. And this makes sense to somebody.

3. Just toss it somewhere in the general vicinity of the bin . . .

3a. Scenes like these are becoming much too commonplace. “Pigs” was what one passer-by said at the latter scene.

4. This poor little guy lost the turtle race . . .

5. Spotted on Welland Vale Road was a woman walking on the road, not the sidewalk, with her head down intently reading a book. That’s the kind of multitasking which could prove very dangerous.

6. Did you just assume someone’s gender?

7. Just hang your jacket in a tree . . .

8. And I’m sure “boo bare” appreciates the public declaration of affection . . .

9. Free roadside goodies, including underwear . . .
