Ode to a Departing Tyrant

January 6, 2025

Our prime minister will soon no longer wear his crown
Rejoice, because the son of Castro is stepping down

He ruled his nation with an iron fist
Like his biological father, he’s a hard-line Communist

How much he admired the dictatorship in China is what we heard
In this, he definitely kept his word

For a decade, he sowed fear and division
Into the nation’s heart he cut a deep incision

He spent our money like it grew on trees
The resulting inflation is bringing us to our knees

There were scandals almost every day
Taxpayers footed the bill every time he or his ministers wanted to play

He opened the borders to those who hate our nation
Chaos and crime have increased in every location

With Big Pharma’s lethal poison, he denied us our right to choose
Those who said no were mocked for having unacceptable views

He hated criticism and fought tooth and nail
To get all his dissenters sent straight to jail

For anyone supporting protests against his illegal decrees
Their bank accounts were frozen by this ball of sleaze

This nation has never known a tyrant more despicable and destructive, you know
Collectively, we have taken a full body blow

It will take a generation to heal from all the damage he has done
Cleaning up the mess won’t be fun

His many victims surely will not rest
Until this evil dictator is put under arrest
