Random Thoughts – Signs of the Times, Heart Month, Who’s the Boss and More

February 8, 2022

1. Any idiot who would be dumb enough to climb into this bin likely isn’t going to pay much attention to the warning sign:

2. The Ontario Ministry of Health recently posted an item on social media about Heart Month. It’s a time to raise awareness about the importance of cardiovascular health, they say. This from the same government that has been breaking the highest laws in the land and international treaties to which Canada is a signatory to force its citizens to take multiple shots of an experimental drug that carries a Health Canada label warning of potentially serious heart problems.

3. Perhaps the best sign spotted at the freedom rally in Ottawa was one held up by a child that read “Blackmail is not a Choice.”

4. Another winner, this time at a freedom rally in Malta, was “What was the most washed in 2020-2021? Hands or brains?”

5. Conspiracy theorist
noun
1. A person who conducts their own research, then uses logic and critical thinking to form an educated opinion instead of just blindly believing whatever they saw on TV.
(See also: critical thinker)

6. Freedom isn’t a reward for good behavior. That’s how prison works.

7. What’s the difference between the government and a drug cartel? The cartel doesn’t force you to take its drugs.

8. When using email, I’ve never understood why people print their name ALL IN UPPER CASE.

9. Appeasement only makes the aggressor more aggressive. It’s something we learned from Munich and the line is just as appropriate today.

10. “When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures bristling with prejudice and motivated by pride and vanity.” – Dale Carnegie.

11. Dear Erin O’Toole: Shame on you for making your caucus forcibly eject you as the leader. At least Andrew Scheer had the decency to resign when he saw the writing on the wall.

11a. I’ll at least give O’Toole credit for staying on as an MP and not acting like a sore loser. See Elliott, Christine.

12. I love prospective CPC leader Pierre Poilievre’s line, “Justin Trudeau thinks he’s your boss. He’s got it backwards.”

13. As the freedom movement continues to gather support in his own province and across the country, it’s no wonder why Doug “Closed for Business” Ford looks like he needs a good laxative. It wouldn’t hurt for him to go on a diet as well.
