On the Road – Braving the Cold, Free Goodies, Dog Massages and More

December 24, 2021

Highlights and lowlights from another two-wheeled trek to and from Welland:

1. With the early morning snow, I had the trail practically all to myself. Which came as no surprise. After all, it was -1 when I left the house. It’s a wonder there wasn’t an extreme cold advisory out. (that’s sarcasm, by the way) All I spotted was one guy on an e-bike and a pair of joggers. One of those joggers said “What are you doing out so early?” as I passed him by. Well, same as him.

2. A tiny sheet of ice . . .

3. Pretty scenes like this were commonplace on the way there ...

3a. Have no fear for us winter-averse wimps, as all that snow and ice melted by midday. We’re not getting a white Christmas after all.

4. Don’t let Doug “Closed for Business” Ford get wind of that . . .

5. What a shame I missed out on the free goodies . . .

6. In case your dog needs a massage . . .

6a. With a surname like Bovine, you’d think she’d specialize in cows instead of dogs.

7. As governments continue to ramp up hostilities against their own people, many are starting to wake up and recognize the tyranny enveloping the globe. But there is no hope for some. Like the guy I spotted in downtown Welland who walked out of a building, then put on a mask.

8. Free plants, courtesy of Rose City Kids . . .

9. Once again, some people are more equal than others . . .
