Southbound view crossing Lake Gibson. Though the sign (not pictured) states “Gibson Lake,” it is officially known as Lake Gibson. The lake itself was created as a reservoir by Ontario Power Generation by flooding the shallow valley of Beaverdams Creek. The lake, fed mostly from Lake Erie via the Welland Canal, forms part of St. Catharines' water supply. Show location on map

To the west, Highway 20 passes through Fonthill, while to the east, the route crosses the Welland Canal at Allanburg and becomes Lundy's Lane in Niagara Falls. Show location on map
