US 10 covers the length of the state beginning at Moorhead and proceeding southeast to Saint Paul before crossing into Wisconsin at Hastings. Prior to the construction of I-94, US 10 was the main route that connected the northern plains to the Twin Cities.

The route is twinned for most of its length and the speed limit is 65 mph on the expressway sections. Motorists, however, must slow down for the many small towns along the route.

Western Entrance: North Dakota state line at Moorhead.

Eastern Entrance: Wisconsin state line at Hastings.
