Born May 10, 1960 in Calgary, Alberta
Height: 5' 10" Weight: 185
Winnipeg's 3rd choice, 44th overall, in 1980 Entry Draft. Traded to Edmonton Oilers for future considerations, July 3, 1986.
The Jets selected centerman Murray Eaves in the third round of the 1980 Entry Draft and he spent six seasons in the Jets' organization after two seasons at the University of Michigan. He spent most of his time with the Jets in the minor leagues and General Manager John Ferguson repeatedly left him exposed in the Waiver Draft as a favor to him, but there were no takers. Eaves moved on to the Edmonton Oilers' and Detroit Red Wings' organizations, where he got into eight NHL games over four seasons. He finished his playing career with stops in Europe and the minor leagues. He turned to coaching and spent five years in the minor leagues as an assistant and head coach.
