Following three seasons split between the Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs, lumbering defenseman Dave Dunn decided to put off retirement and sign with the Jets in the summer of 1976. His first season with the Jets was marred by injuries, but he rebounded and was a regular on the blue line for the Jets as they went on to capture their second AVCO Cup championship. He retired following the 1977-1978 season and moved into the coaching ranks as an assistant to Harry Neale in Vancouver.
