Winnipeg's 8th choice, 165th overall, in 1985 Entry Draft. Traded to St. Louis Blues for future considerations (Jim Vesey), February 28, 1991. Traded to Jets by St. Louis Blues for future considerations, May 24, 1991. Traded to Buffalo Sabres for Buffalo's 7th round choice in 1992 Entry Draft. Signed as a free agent, December 14, 1995.
The Jets selected goaltender Tom Draper late in the 1985 Entry Draft and he made his Jets and NHL debut in 1988-1989 after four seasons at the University of Vermont and one season in Finland. He spent parts of three seasons in the Jets' organization before being traded to the St. Louis Blues late in the 1990-1991 season. He bounced around among different organizations in the NHL and at the minor league level and made his last NHL appearance back with the Jets in 1995-1996. He went on to spend several more seasons in Finland and in the minor leagues before bringing his playing career to an end after the 2003-2004 season.
