Traded to Jets with Tim Cheveldae by Detroit Red Wings for Bob Essensa and Sergei Bautin, March 8, 1994.
The Jets acquired Dallas Drake late in the 1993-1994 season from the Detroit Red Wings and the tough, gritty competitor remained with the Jets through their final season in 1995-1996. He moved with the franchise to Arizona and spent four more seasons there before moving on to the St. Louis Blues, where he played for six years. He wound up his playing career back with the Red Wings, his original team, and was part of the Red Wings' Stanley Cup championship team in 2007-2008.
