The Jets acquired tough winger Tie Domi from the New York Rangers midway through the 1992-1993 season and the dimunitive, but respected enforcer remained with the Jets for most of the next two full seasons. With Domi approaching free agency at the end of the 1995 season, the Jets dealt him to his original team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, in April 1995. He remained with the Leafs for the next ten seasons and brought an end to an NHL career that saw him appear in 1,020 games and accumulate 3,515 penalty minutes. His childhood idols were Dave “Tiger” Williams and John McEnroe. In high school, he was scouted by the University of Michigan for soccer and football.
