Traded to Jets by Colorado Rockies for Brent Ashton and Winnipeg's 3rd choice in 1982 Entry Draft, July 15, 1981. Traded to Montreal for Perry Turnbull, June 13, 1984. Traded to Jets by Toronto Maple Leafs for Mark Osborne, March 10, 1992.
The Jets acquired Lucien DeBlois from the Colorado Rockies in the summer of 1981. He quickly became a respected member of the team and was named the captain following the trade of Dave Christian during the summer of 1983. During the following off-season, the Jets traded him to the Montreal Canadiens over a contract dispute, and he went on to play eight more seasons in the NHL, finishing his long career in his second tour of duty with the Jets late in the 1991-1992 season. DeBlois entered the NHL as a first-round draft choice of the New York Rangers and future Jets' General Manager John Ferguson.
