After starring at Colgate University, Bill Davis signed with the Jets following the 1976-1977 season. Davis made brief cameo appearances with the Jets over the next two seasons and he remained in the Jets' organization for two seasons after they entered the NHL, but he never saw action in an NHL game. His lone WHA goal came in a 9-1 defeat at the hands of the Birmingham Bulls when his shot from the point went in off Serge Beaudoin.
