Traded to Jets from Philadelphia Flyers for future considerations, July 21, 1989. Traded to Quebec Nordiques for Dan Lambert, August 25, 1992.
The Jets acquired tough defenseman Shawn Cronin from the Philadelphia Flyers' organization in the summer of 1989. He had made his NHL debut the prior season as a member of the Washington Capitals and he spent the next three full seasons with the Jets, where he became the Jets' all-time leader in fighting majors. The Jets dealt him to Quebec during the summer of 1992 and he finished his NHL career three seasons later with the San Jose Sharks. His playing career came to an end following two seasons in the minor leagues.
