The Jets selected Danton Cole late in the 1985 Entry Draft and he made his debut with the Jets with a brief two-game stint in the 1989-1990 season. He played two more seasons with the Jets before being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the summer of 1992. He went on to play for three more NHL teams and finished his playing career in the minor leagues. He moved on to the coaching ranks and worked in the minor leagues and at the collegiate level.
