The Jets signed diminutive Aaron Broten midway through the 1991-1992 season and he spent the last of his seven-season pro career in the Jets' organization. Prior to being acquired by the Jets, he had spent the bulk of his career with the Colorado Rockies/New Jersey Devils franchise, where he was one of the few bright spots on some bad teams when he broke into the NHL. Two of his brothers, Neal and Paul, also played in the NHL, and Neal's number 7 was retired by the Dallas Stars.
