The Jets signed Winnipeg native and Winnipeg Warriors junior graduate Darren Boyko in May 1988. He spent part of one season in the Jets' organization and appeared in one game with the Jets on 19 October 1988. He subsequently returned to HIFK Helsinki in Finland, where he had been playing previously, and remained there through the 1995-1996 season.
