The Jets signed hard working winger Jerry Butler prior to the start of the 1982-1983 season and he spent his last season in pro hockey with the Jets. He was originally drafted by the New York Rangers in 1971 and spent time with the Rangers, St. Louis Blues, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Vancouver Canucks before joining the Jets.
