The Jets signed rugged centerman Dale Yakiwchuk in the summer of 1978 and though he spent most of the 1978-1979 season in the minors, he made a brief four-game cameo appearance with the Jets that year. He remained in the Jets' organization the following season before moving on to play several more years in the minor leagues.
