Selected by Jets in General Player Draft, February 12, 1972. Traded to Indianapolis Racers for future considerations (cash), December 26, 1974.
In June 1972, veteran defenseman Bob Woytowich became the seventh player to sign with the Jets. He provided a steadying influence on the Jets' blue line for more than two seasons before being dealt to the Indianapolis Racers in December 1974 to make room for Thommie Bergman on the roster. He finished the 1974-1975 season with the Racers and played one more season in Indianapolis before bringing his pro career to an end one year later.
