The Jets acquired promising young defenseman Oleg Tverdovsky as part of the highly controversial trade that involved Teemu Selanne late in the 1995-1996 season. He spent the rest of the year with the Jets and moved with the team to Arizona, where he continued his career for many years, but never fulfilled the lofty expectations that came with being the second overall selection in the 1994 Entry Draft.
