Traded to Jets by New York Rangers for future considerations, December 16, 1987.
The Jets acquired defenseman Paul Boutilier from the New York Rangers midway through the 1987-1988 season. The former first-round selection of the New York Islanders spent that season and the next season in the Jets' organization, making only brief appearances with the Jets. Following the 1988-1989 season, he moved on and spent the rest of his playing career with stops at the minor league level, in Europe, and with the Canadian National Team.
