Traded to Jets with future considerations by Los Angeles Kings for the rights to Ruslan Batyrshin and Winnipeg's 2nd round choice in 1996 Entry Draft, August 8, 1994.
The Jets acquired rugged defenseman Brent Thompson from the Los Angeles Kings in the summer of 1994 and he spent parts of two seasons with the Jets before the team moved to Arizona. He remained with the relocated franchise for one season and moved on to spend the rest of his career in the minor leagues. His last action came in 2004-2005 as a member of the Providence Bruins. Thompson was originally drafted by the Kings in the second round of the 1989 Entry Draft and he spent parts of four seasons in the Kings' organization before signing with the Jets.
