Rights acquired from Houston Aeros for cash, July 6, 1978. Rights retained prior to Expansion Draft, June 9, 1979. Traded to Atlanta Flames for future considerations, August, 1979.
The Jets purchased Paul Terbenche's contract from the defunct Houston Aeros in the summer of 1978 and the gritty veteran defenseman proved to be the surprise of training camp, earning himself a regular spot on the Jets' blue line. He spent the entire 1978-1979 season with the Jets and helped them to the AVCO Cup championship that season. Terbenche spent the next two seasons in the minor leagues before bringing his playing career to a close.
