Born August 15, 1963 in Framingham, Massachusetts
Height: 6' 2" Weight: 200
Winnipeg's 4th choice, 43rd overall, in 1983 Entry Draft. Traded to Minnesota North Stars for future considerations, September 30, 1990.
The Jets selected defenseman Peter Taglianetti in the third round of the 1983 Entry Draft and following his third season at Providence College, he made his Jets debut late in the 1984-1985 season. The tough, stay-at-home defender spent the next five seasons in the Jets' organization before being dealt to the Minnesota North Stars in September 1990. He was subsequently dealt to the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he was part of two Stanley Cup championship teams. He was claimed by the expansion Tampa Bay Lightning during the summer of 1992 only to be re-acquired by the Penguins in March 1993. Following two more seasons with the Penguins, he wound up his career in the minor leagues with the Providence Bruins in the same city he played collegiately. He was a roommate of former Jet Steve Rooney when the two played at Providence College.
