The Jets selected Winnipeg native Russ Romaniuk in the second round of the 1988 Entry Draft and he spent four seasons in the Jets' organization after starring at the University of North Dakota. He split his time between the Jets and their farm teams before being dealt to the Philadelphia Flyers in the summer of 1995. After 17 games with the Flyers, he spent the rest of his career in the minor leagues and in Europe.
