Kelly Pratt became the first WHA Amateur Draft selection to sign with the Jets and he split the 1973-1974 season between the Jets and the Jacksonville Barons. The pipe-fitting apprentice provided some much-needed youthful enthusiasm to a veteran roster and added a physical presence also in short supply during his brief tenure in a Jets uniform. Pratt signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins following the 1973-1974 season and after 22 games with the Penguins in 1974-1975, he spent the next five seasons in the minor leagues to wind up his playing career.
