The Jets claimed centerman Lynn Powis off waivers from the Indianapolis Racers in December 1977 and he proved to be a valuable role player as the Jets went on to claim their second AVCO Cup in 1978. Following the 1977-1978 season, Powis moved on and finished his playing career in Germany.
