The Jets selected slick defenseman Fredrik Olausson in the fourth round of the 1985 Entry Draft and he enjoyed seven full seasons in a Jets uniform before being dealt to the Edmonton Oilers in December 1993. He went on to play for another 13 seasons with three other NHL teams before winding up his distinguished career in Sweden following the 2006-2007 season. While in Winnipeg, his last name was often mispronounced as “Olafson”.
