The Jets acquired centerman Troy Murray from the Chicago Blackhawks in the summer of 1991 and he spent a season and a half with the Jets before being dealt back to Chicago in February 1993. He went on to wind up his playing career with stops in Ottawa, Pittsburgh, and Colorado, and retired after one season in the minor leagues. He was originally drafted by the Blackhawks in 1980 and spent nine full seasons in Chicago before being traded to the Jets. During his brief tenure with the Jets, Murray was named the team captain.
