The Jets acquired Rob Murray from the Minnesota North Stars in the summer of 1991 and he spent five seasons in the Jets' organization. He made only brief cameo appearances with the Jets and following the franchise's relocation to Arizona, he went on to play seven more seasons, mostly in the minor leagues. He last saw NHL action in 1998-1999 with the relocated team in Arizona. Following his playing career, he turned to coaching and worked for the Boston Bruins' farm team in Providence.
