Traded to Jets by Toronto Maple Leafs for cash, December 2, 1980.
The Jets acquired defenseman Richard Mulhern from the Toronto Maple Leafs in December 1980 and he spent the rest of the 1980-1981 season in the Jets' organization, suiting up in 19 games with the Jets to wind up his playing career. He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Flames in the first round of the 1975 Amateur Draft and he spent parts of four seasons with the Flames before moving on to play for the Los Angeles Kings and the Maple Leafs.
