In desperate need of healthy bodies, the Jets signed winger Morris Mott in January 1977 from the Transcona Chargers of the Central Amateur Senior Hockey League. Mott signed a ten-game tryout contract and suited up in two games for the Jets, earning a black eye courtesy of Ray Adduono of the San Diego Chargers for his trouble. Prior to joining the Jets, he had played three seasons for the California Golden Seals and one year with Vastra Frolunda in Sweden.
