Signed as a free agent, June 20, 1989. Traded to New York Rangers for Simon Wheeldon, July 10, 1990.
The Jets signed Brian McReynolds as a free agent during the summer of 1989 and he spent most of the 1989-1990 season with the Jets' farm team in Moncton, but he did get into nine games with the Jets. The Jets traded him to the New York Rangers the following summer and after three seasons in the Rangers' organization, he played in 20 games for the Los Angeles Kings, his last NHL stop. He wound up his playing career in Europe, making stops in Sweden and Germany. McReynolds was originally drafted by the Rangers in 1985, but he chose to pursue his education at Michigan State University instead.
