The Jets purchased the contract of enforcer Kevin McClelland in the summer of 1993 and he spent one season in the Jets' organization, appearing in only six games for the Jets. He wound up his playing career following one season with the Buffalo Sabres' farm team in Rochester. He broke into the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1981-1982 and spent most of his NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers. Over the course of 588 NHL games, he accumulated 1,672 penalty minutes.
