The Jets made winger Peter Marsh their first selection in the Expansion Draft and he played parts of two seasons with the Jets before being traded to Chicago in December 1980. He remained in the Blackhawks' organization until his retirement following the 1983-1984 season. Marsh broke into pro hockey with the Cincinnati Stingers and had three excellent seasons in Cincinnati, scoring a career-high 43 goals in 1978-1979.
