#3 - Dave (Charlie) Manson

David Michael Manson
Defense
Born January 27, 1967 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan
Height: 6' 2" Weight: 202
Traded to Jets with St. Louis' 6th round choice in 1994 Entry Draft by Edmonton Oilers for Boris Mironov, Mats Lindgren, Winnipeg's 1st round choice in 1994 Entry Draft and Florida's 4th round choice in 1994 Entry Draft, March 15, 1994.
The Jets acquired tough defenseman Dave Manson from the Edmonton Oilers late in the 1993-1994 season and he remained with the Jets through their final season in 1995-1996. The veteran rearguard provided a much-needed physical element to the Jets' defense corps and was one of the leaders on the Jets' last teams. He moved with the team to Arizona before being dealt to Montreal late in the 1996-1997 season to begin a series of moves that culminated with his retirement in September 2002. Manson was originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 1985 and he spent his first five NHL seasons in Chicago before being traded to Edmonton. Despite his imposing stature and reputation for having a mean streak, he had a weak voice thanks to an altercation in 1992 that left his vocal chords permanently damaged. After his playing career, he coached at the junior level with the Prince Albert Raiders, his hometown team.
