The Jets claimed Kris Manery on waivers from the Vancouver Canucks in February 1980 and the Jets became his third team in 1979-1980. He remained with the Jets and played most of the 1980-1981 season in Winnipeg before spending the entire 1981-1982 season with the Jets' farm team in Tulsa. He retired following three seasons in Europe and a brief six-game stint in the AHL. Manery broke into the NHL with the Cleveland Barons as an undrafted free agent after starring at the University of Michigan for four seasons.
