The Jets signed winger Bill Lesuk in the summer of 1975 and he became an important member of the team over the next four seasons in which the Jets won the AVCO Cup three times. The hard worker and superb checker spent another season with the Jets after they joined the NHL and retired after the 1979-1980 to begin a long and successful scouting career. He went on to become the Director of Scouting with the Jets and later, the Chicago Blackhawks. As a player, Lesuk broke into the NHL with the Boston Bruins and he also spent time with the Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings, and Washington Capitals before signing with the Jets.
