After being a Jet on paper for a month during the summer of 1979, the Jets acquired Winnipeg native Barry Legge once again during the summer of 1980 and he spent two seasons in the Jets' organization to bring his playing career to an end. After three seasons of junior hockey in Winnipeg, he made his pro debut with the Michigan Stags and played four more seasons in the WHA before his rights were traded to the Quebec Nordiques.
