Traded to Jets by Washington Capitals for Paul MacDermid, March 2, 1992.
The Jets acquired veteran defenseman Mike Lalor from the Washington Capitals in March 1992 and he spent the rest of the 1991-1992 and the entire 1992-1993 season with the Jets. The steady, stay-at-home defender signed with the San Jose Sharks during the summer of 1993 and was subsequently dealt to the Dallas Stars, where he finished his playing career following the 1996-1997 season. Lalor broke into the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens as an undrafted free agent and played parts of five seasons in their organization prior to being traded to the St. Louis Blues. Following two seasons with the Blues, he was traded to the Capitals, where he spent most of two seasons before being traded to the Jets.
