The Jets selected winger Markku Kyllonen late in the 1987 Entry Draft and he made a brief appearance with the Jets in 1988-1989 during his only season in the Jets' organization. He returned to his native Finland the following season and played three more seasons with JoKP. He retired following one season in Britain and another in Germany. Before coming to Winnipeg, he played six seasons for JoKP and three more with Karpat Oulu.
