#11 - Norm Beaudin

Norman Joseph Andrew Beaudin
Right Wing
Born November 28, 1941 in Montmartre, Saskatchewan
Height: 5' 8" Weight: 172
Selected by Jets in 1972 General Player Draft, February 12, 1972.
Norm Beaudin was the first player to sign a Jets contract, but the signing was not made public for fear of a public backlash over making a longtime minor leaguer their first signing. Beaudin's signing was finally announced following the signings of goaltenders Ernie Wakely and Joe Daley. He tied for the team lead in scoring in 1972-1973 and was the WHA's leading scorer in the 1973 playoffs as the Jets advanced to the AVCO Cup finals. Beaudin went on to play three more seasons with the Jets as a checker and role player and was one of five originals on the Jets' first AVCO Cup championship roster in 1976. Following the 1975-1976 season, he moved on and finished his playing career in Switzerland.
