An inspirational leader, he was named captain for the 1995-1996 season and helped lead the Jets to their first playoff berth in three years. After one season with the relocated franchise in Arizona, he signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs and finished his career as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks in December 2000.
