Traded to Jets with Tie Domi by New York Rangers for Ed Olczyk, December 28, 1992.
The Jets acquired winger Kris King from the New York Rangers in December 1992 and he remained with the Jets through their final season in 1995-1996. An inspirational leader, he was named captain for the 1995-1996 season and helped lead the Jets to their first playoff berth in three years. After one season with the relocated franchise in Arizona, he signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs and finished his career as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks in December 2000. He holds the distinction of being the last NHL award winner from the Jets, as he won the King Clancy Memorial Trophy for the 1995-1996 season. He listed his childhood hero as Darryl Sittler.
