Winnipeg's 11th choice, 71st overall, in 1986 Entry Draft.
The Jets selected winger Hannu Jarvenpaa late in the 1986 Entry Draft and he made his Jets debut in 1986-1987 following five seasons in his native Finland. He instantly became a folk hero with a four-goal performance in an exhibition game, but he was never able to duplicate those heroics over his three seasons with the Jets. His first season as a Jet was marred by a serious knee injury suffered at the hands of noted knee-wrecker Craig Muni of the Edmonton Oilers. After the 1988-1989 season, he returned to Finland and played six more seasons before ending his playing career.
