The Jets acquired slick centerman Craig Janney from the San Jose Sharks at the trading deadline late in the 1995-1996 season. He spent the rest of the year with the Jets and was a major contributor in the stretch run and into the playoffs. He moved with the team to Arizona and played two seasons before being dealt to the Tampa Bay Lightning during the summer of 1998. He wound up his playing career the following season as a member of the New York Islanders.
