Traded to Jets with Washington's 2nd round choice in 1993 Entry Draft by Washington Capitals for Rick Tabaracci, March 22, 1993. Traded to St. Louis Blues for St. Louis' 7th round choice in 1994 Entry Draft and future considerations, July 29, 1993.
The Jets acquired goaltender Jim Hrivnak from the Washington Capitals in March 1993 and he played in three games during his brief time in a Jets uniform. That summer, the Jets traded him to the St. Louis Blues and he played in 23 games in 1993-1994 in his last NHL appearance. He finished his playing career with stops in the minor leagues and across Europe and last saw action in 2000-2001 with Assat Pori in Finland. Hrivnak was originally drafted by the Capitals in 1986 and he made his NHL debut with them in 1989-1990 after four seasons at Merrimack College.
