The Jets selected winger Dave Hoyda in the 1979 Expansion Draft and he spent the next two seasons in the Jets' organization, spending most of his time with the Jets' farm team in Tulsa. After four seasons in junior hockey, he broke into the NHL with the Philadelphia Flyers, where he spent parts of two seasons. He retired following the 1980-1981 season.
