The Jets signed defenseman Matt Hervey following a four-year junior career with three teams. He played two games for the Jets in 1988-1989 and following two more seasons in the Jets' organization, he moved on to play briefly with the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning before finishing his playing career in the minor leagues.
