Anders Hedberg spurned an offer from the Toronto Maple Leafs to sign with the Jets in May 1974. Playing the right wing for the first time in his career, he formed part of the “Hot Line” with Bobby Hull and Ulf Nilsson that became one of the best lines in hockey history. He played four seasons with the Jets, scoring at least 50 goals each year. He helped lead the Jets to two AVCO Cup championships and was a three-time All-Star. He joined Nilsson in signing with the New York Rangers for the 1978-1979 season and he retired with the Rangers following the 1984-1985 season. After his playing career, he served in various scouting and management roles with different NHL clubs.
